Mode Marché 9.5

The most creative stock sample sale in the Netherlands, Mode Marché, will take place again on Saturday November 12th, in the center of Rotterdam.

And this time it´s not super shopping in one location, but two! The independent initiative by Iconique Fashion Magazine and Stylevation Army will take place at the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and in the monumental church Arminius - where the Mode Marché once started.

Mode Marché is a stock sample sale with an approachable yet stylish character, where both young and established Dutch designers have a chance to sell their clothing, accessories, fabrics and sample collections to their fans.

This year both the talented young designer DAISY KROON and well known designer JEROEN VanTUYL will be present at the Mode Marché.

Expect great designers, cheap bargains, new and old collections.
Oh, and don't forget to bring cash.

Mode Marché 9.5
Saturday November 12 at
Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Museumpark 18-20 Rotterdam
and
Arminius, Museumpark 3 Rotterdam

Hope to see you there!

JEROEN VanTUYL designs outfit for NFF `Guest of the year´

Last week, the Nederlands Film Festival took place in Utrecht. At this festival a lot of Dutch productions premiere and the Gouden Kalveren (awards) are handed out.

Since a few years the NFF and the Centraal Museum in Utrecht have a collaboration. Fashion is one of the main focusses of the Centraal Museum and its aim is to collect the early work of authentic design talents. Jeroen van Tuyl´s work fits well within the lines of the Centraal Museum´s policy, with his emphasis on craftmanship, concept and quality.

So this year it was Jeroen van Tuyl who got to design the outfit for Frans van Gestel, one of Hollands best filmproducers. And with more than 65 titels on his name already, it is no surprise that Frans was `Guest of the year´ at the NFF.

Jeroen van Tuyl´s work for Frans van Gestel and the NFF will be added to the collection of the Centraal Museum. His inventive designs of high quality are an important addition to the fashion collection of the Centraal Museum.

JEROEN VanTUYL on cover Elsevier Stijl

Dutch fashion designer JEROEN VanTUYL was featured a number of times in the September edition of Elsevier Stijl ´Mannenmode´.
Not only did his designs make the cover, they were also used in a spread about the best Dutch talent. Shot in the VitraHaus in Weil am Rhein, this is a inspiring series that shouldn´t be missed.

JEROEN VanTUYL´s A/W collection 2011 is inspired on glass fragments, which have been used as a print for various designs. Strong lines and small details such as an a-symetrical zip make it an elegant collection.
The use of wool, satin and acryl have a luxurious feeling and make the items perfect for this winter.

JEROEN VanTUYL @Boutyq

Yesterday, February the 1st, the fourth edition of Boutyq took place in the Bagagehal at Loods 6.

Boutyq is a unique platform for Dutch and international designers to show their inspiration and collection. Participants of the fourth edition of Boutyq were: Francisco van Benthum, Unconditional, Jan Boelo and JEROEN VanTUYL.

Van Tuyl celebrates the 10th anniversary of his label this year. For A/W 2011 he was inspired by broken glass. A grey suit in shards print was developed in cooperation with Kiki van Eijk and EE labels and is one of the eye catchers in the collection.

Another catchy item is the pants and sleeveless top made of separate pieces of leather.

Man & Mode

Tonight an interesting, mixed crowed joined for the opening of the exhibition Man & Mode at Amsterdam Historisch Museum. The exhibition focuses on men and their clothes in Amsterdam down the centuries. Various areas of the male wardrobe are explored thematically. The suit, underwear, ties, hats, armour and sneakers are all featured.

Six fashion designers – JEROEN VanTUYL, Ivo Mittelmeijer, Huyn Yeu, Sjaak Hullekes, OntFront and NON by KIM – have also been commissioned to produce fantastic outfits for the 21st-century man. Their contributions are shown at the Regentessenkamer. Above you see JEROEN VanTUYL's commissioned work.
