Party with New Yorker

As we´re getting closer towards the end of the year, it´s time to think about what to wear during all the upcoming parties.


One of best styles this season is the Dandy look, giving both men and women that extra something.

Sequins on blazers or waistcoat take care of the glam factor and are teamed up with gold-colored trousers, leather shorts, T-shirts with cheeky prints and boots. Shiny cocktail dresses and peep toe heels lend elegance and the famous little black dress is spiced up with a tie and socks in high heels.


And if that’s still too well-behaved, how about a lace dress and see-through blouse for maximum sexy-effect? The absolute must-have combining casual and cool in one is the trilby – setting off the Dandy look to perfection.


Classic men’s suits in grey, black or white are turned into real party pieces with highlights, such as red shoes or breast pocket handkerchiefs. But those who don’t see themselves as suit-wearers can confidently reach for a simple shirt and braces.

Ming´s Pretty Heroes in New Yorker

On October 13, future leaders met current leaders from all areas of society during the TEDxRotterdam event at the Nieuwe Luxor Theatre in Rotterdam.

Ai Ming Oei is a singer and songwriter making alternative pop rock with her band Ming’s Pretty Heroes. As the official Music Ambassador of the city of Rotterdam in 2011, Ming tries to put talent from Rotterdam in the musical spotlight.

This time, by performing with her band and the Red Limo String Quartet on TEDxRotterdam.
She performed for over 1500 people last week, and as she did this in New Yorker clothing, we think she deserves some more attention!

Press event New Yorker

Yesterday, on the 11th of October, New Yorker held a special event in Amsterdam for the press. During the day there was a spectacular workshop, the new spring/summer 2012 collection was shown and there were some good surprises!

Can you guess what the workshop was?


That´s right, we got an amazing graffiti workshop!

The theme of the day was `New York´ and so everyone had to create an artwork inspired by New York. But first everyone got to practice (which was a good thing as it is definately harder than it looks..)











After a good time of practicing and learning some insider-tips, everyone created their own artwork.







Before heading to the New Yorker shop for the second part of the event, we enjoyed some delicious mini hamburgs and fries. Served in these custom made New Yorker packages:





Transported by bicycle taxi´s, everyone arrived at the New Yorker store, where some more surprises were waiting for the press.

Of course the New York inspired artworks weren´t just made for fun, because a winner was announced.
The lucky winner was Evi from Girlscene, who won a lot of shopping vouchers!

Luckily there were vouchers in all the goodiebags, so everyone got a chance to shop whilst enjoying champagne and brownies. All of this was accompanied by a live performance by Ming.



We had a fantastic day and want to thank everyone for making this an event we´ll never forget. See you next season!

New Yorker opened 2nd store this month

Last week, on September 29th, New Yorker opened their doors in the shopping centre “Cityplaza”, Nieuwegein. For the German fashion company this is the 27th store in the Netherlands and it was the 2nd store opening this month!



The opening of the new store was a celebration. For the first 100 visitors there were goodie bags, and promoters handed out scratch cards during the day with spectacular prizes on them. There were also special sales offers and the DJ School Zuid-Holland made it an unforgettable store opening by serving cool beats.

Tomorrow, on the 1st of October, the 6th National Glamour Day will take place again.
This year, the shopping event is bigger than ever. And: you´re invited!

To start the day in a special way, there is a breakfast waiting for you from 8:30 to 10:00 O´clock at the Leidseplein. You´ll need the energy for a whole day of shopping, so join your fellow readers and the Glamour-team. There will be delicious food and a DJ will give a spectacular performance.

New Yorker opens second shop this month

Thursday the 29th of September the German fashion company New Yorker will open their second store this month in the Netherlands. This time, Nieuwegein is the lucky town.
On more than 1000 m2 New Yorker will present its latest collection in the shopping centre “Stadskwartier” in Nieuwegein.

To celebrate the second store opening this month New Yorker has some suprises planned. For the first 100 visitors there is a goodiebag and promotors will hand out scratch cards during the day with spectaculair prizes on them.
The “DJ School Zuid-Holland” will make sure your shopping trip is an unforgettable experience by serving cool beats.



The opening starts at 10:45 so make sure to be there if you want a goodiebag! The store will be open until 18:00.

New Yorker opened a new store in Spijkenisse

Yesterday, on September 15th, New Yorker opened their 26th store in the renovated shopping mall Stadsplein, Spijkenisse. With a shop of 700m², New Yorker offers customers a wide range of the latest trends of their own brands Fishbone, Fishbone Sister (sportswear and streetwear), Amisu(trendy women's fashion), Smog (trendy casual fashion for men) and censored (underwear and swimwear).

On the opening day New Yorker had some great offers ready for the visitors. Some DJ's from the DJ School South Holland came and gave an unforgettable store opening. A slot machine gave customers the chance to win very special prizes, such as a voucher up to € 100 of shopping money!




This year the fall collection of New Yorker is elegant and casual at the same time. Feminine shapes and graphic patterns give a glamorous look. Dark earth tones and cherry red wool with woven patterns create a harmonious ensemble. Long, soft sweaters and jackets are at the center of attention. Additional fur applications make the items more striking. Loose ponchos and capes are fall essentials toghether with leather pants.

Even men reach for knitted fabrics this season. The Norwegian sweater celebrates it's comeback in the popular color combination of white and red. Casual jeans with different washes are combined with knitted jumpers in khaki or navy blue.

New Yorker opens new store in Spijkenisse

On the 15th of September New Yorker will open their doors in Spijkenisse.
During this day New Yorker will present their newest collections at shopping mall Stadsplein. And you are all welcome to come and join us!


For the opening New Yorker has planned a spectacular day. We won´t ruin all the surprises, but we can tell you this: The “DJ School” will be present, making your shopping trip an unforgettable experience with their cool beats.
Promoters will be handing out flyers and a lucky game is waiting for the costumers. Who knows, you might win!
